Family Mediation – how we can help couples during the Covid-19 pandemic

The Covid-19 situation is a difficult time for everyone. At Hall Smith Whittingham Mediation we can help separated parents make arrangements for their children that bear in mind the importance of family members keeping safe and children maintaining a relationship with both their parents.

We are holding Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings (MIAMs) and mediation meetings by video link, to help couples resolve issues about their children or finances.

Isolation as a result of the lockdown and worries about family members, work and the future are placing a strain on families. We can refer people who come to us for mediation for counselling at a reduced rate with the counsellor who has been on our team.

MIAMs and mediation are completely free of charge for anyone on Universal Credit, Income Support, income-based Employment and Support Allowance or anyone who has low income from other benefits or earnings. Their former partner can also have a free MIAM and the first mediation session for free.

To refer someone for mediation use this link https://hswsolicitors.wpengine.com/departments/divorce-family/mediation-contact/ or they can use the link to arrange an appointment.

Alternatively just send a quick email to mediation@hswsolicitors.co.uk or phone 01270 259700 with their contact details and we will take it from there.

Our charges for those who are above the income limit for free mediation can be found here https://hswsolicitors.wpengine.com/departments/divorce-family/mediation-charges/
